Open Air Dance Collective

It's a dance studio : reimagined.

At Open Air Dance Collective (OADC), we reimagine the traditional dance education model by cultivating an inclusive, uplifting, and artistically enriching environment. Based in Austin, Texas, OADC offers a boutique dance experience where members of all ages and skill levels receive exceptional training, personalized mentorship, and unparalleled performance opportunities. Through our thoughtfully curated programs, we nurture both technical excellence and artistic expression, fostering a close-knit community that celebrates every dancer’s growth and achievements.

Our Philosophy

Turn Tech (ages 6–9):
Younger dancers will work to build the technical foundation behind clean, controlled turns. They'll explore balance work, spotting, posture, the importance of turn preps and plié, and the early mechanics of turning.

Turns & Kicks (ages 10+):
This intermediate/advanced session is all about fine-tuning technique, placement, and alignment in turns. Dancers will focus on challenging balance work, control through transitions, and clean rotations across a variety of turning styles. They'll also work on alignment and technical placement for clean, precise high kicks.

Power Strength & Stretch (ages 10+):
This is not a light stretch class. It's a challenging, full-body training session designed to build the muscles dancers rely on most. Expect intense strength-building circuits, deep flexibility work, and serious sweat. Dancers should bring a yoga mat and a small towel.

Leaps & Tricks:

Younger dancers will gain confidence in their leap technique as they focus on takeoff, form, and safe landings—all while pushing past their comfort zones in a supportive environment. Older dancers will work to increase height, hang time, and power in their leaps while exploring a range of dynamic, exciting movements to add to their performance vocabulary.

Style & Movement:

Each class dives into phrasework designed to strengthen musicality, detail, and personal style. Dancers will explore how to make choreography feel like their own, with attention to nuance, transitions, and presence. These sessions are ideal for dancers looking to mature artistically and develop a deeper, more intentional connection to movement.
